Brazing Services
At North American Carbide we provide both vacuum and induction brazing services. With our temperature controlled environment we’re able to maintain process repeatability and quality control.
What is Vacuum Brazing?
Vacuum brazing a process that is used to join two materials with filler metal, or braze alloy, that has a melting point below that of the base materials. This results in extremely strong joints. At North American Carbide and in the tooling industry, we use vacuum brazing to inlay a diamond or ceramic into a metal.
What Items Can Be Vacuum Brazed?
Man made CBN, PCD and ceramic are brazed on to metals at NAC.
Benefits of Vacuum Brazing
- Uniform heating
- Tight temperature control
- No oxidation or scaling
- Stronger bond (than induction brazing)
- Cost-effective
- Process repeatability
Why Work With NAC?
We take quality control seriously. We do everything in small batches, and every single batch is tested. We’re sure to make one extra piece per batch so that we can destroy it just to test it. On average, our vacuum brazing increases the strength of the bond two and a half times greater than other braze methods, giving you a stronger, longer-lasting tool.
Contact us today to discuss any and all of your vacuum brazing needs! We would be happy to help. Be sure to ask about our induction brazing services, also.
